Home. Art. Community.

Owned and operated by Asé Design Studio's Darryl Patterson and Lawrence Moore, lottie's place is one of Baltimore's newest best-kept secrets. Now located in the Tuscany-Canterbury neighborhood, the space is thoughtfully curated with a range of giftware items from around the world. Find handmade, high-quality wares by local and national artisans, as well as a selection of products from the global makers' community. Be assured that you will find that special gift for your loved ones for any occasion.

HOME

The home collection includes limited-edition furniture and home furnishings from Asé Design Studio, Cobalt Guild, Japacolle, Kanju Interiors, Lafeeca, Cushendale, Libeco Linen and more. All textiles are natural fibers—linen, mohair, wool and cotton—to include upholstered furniture. All wood tabletop items, such as cutting boards and serving trays, are made to order.

ART

Art was the beginning of lottie’s place in 2011 with the founding of the Community Art Show of Baltimore, an annual show which served as a forum to introduce new artists to the Baltimore community. The last show was held in 2014 but the tradition of introducing new artists and artisans is continued at the store. Featured artists and artisans include, but not limited to, abstract paintings by Dina Sanchez, vintage photographs by I. Henry Phillips, Sr., and fabric art by Heavypaper Co.

In 2023, Asé Design Studio partnered with the American Craft Council (ACC) to found the Award for Excellence in Wood. This partnership will continue on a larger scale as lottie’s place/Asé Design Studio work with ACC and Made In Baltimore to ‘redefine’ the craft industry.

COMMUNITY

Part of every dollar spent at lottie’s place is returned to the Baltimore community at large. The Lottie M. Patterson Memorial Scholarship (founded in 2014) is a merit-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors pursuing a four-year course of study in the arts (performing or visual). Every scholarship recipient has been a graduate of a Baltimore City public school and has attended some of the nation’s top schools to include Columbia University, Hampshire College, Oberlin College and Baltimore’s own Peabody Institute.

“Meals on the Boulevard” is a community service campaign that started in 2015. Each Thanksgiving Day, 50 to 65 homemade meals are prepared and given to citizens in need along Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Please contact us at info@lotties-place.com if you would like to volunteer in the kitchen or distributing meals on the Boulevard.
